Jewellery and drawings stand at the heart of German jeweller Iris Bodemer’s creative production. She is an artist led by instinct, with an unmistakeable affinity with her materials. Ideas percolate in her mind over time and find voice in her jewellery. ‘I design jewellery just like I draw. The jewels are my drawings’. Working directly with her materials, her work has a beautifully sketched, intuitive appearance, often combining materials in unconventional and unexpected pairings.

This ornately produced monograph, with large-format images and an insightful essay by the Dutch art historian Marjan Unger (1946-2018), offers readers an interim appraisal of Iris’s work from 1997 to 2013.
