Belgian silversmith David Huycke’s work consists of monumental, basic forms such as spheres, spherical sections and cylinders and, occasionally, more complex combinations of geometric forms. Objectivity, minimalism, repetition and rhythm are the defining characteristics but he most well-known for his innovative use of the traditional technique of granulation. He reduces forms to their very essence with the aim of creating objects that are purely sculptural.
