Every year Marzee invites the winners of the Marzee Graduate Prize to take part in a week-long residency at Atelier Ravary, set in the grounds of a magnificent estate in the Belgian countryside. Atelier Ravary provides the artists with access to a range of fully-equipped workshops, mentors to guide them and peaceful and inspiring surroundings in which to immerse themselves. Living and working together for a week, eating and drinking, talking and sharing, creates a very special, unique environment for these young artists to explore and develop their practice. The work created during their time at Ravary, and developed subsequently, is shown in a special exhibition at Marzee during our annual graduate show.
The prizewinners are accompanied at Atelier Ravary by Marie-José and their mentors, who have previously included artists Annelies Planteijdt and Junwon Jung.
