22 March – 31 July 2020

Known for her often brightly coloured work, Fragmentology is Karola Torkos’ study of surviving fragments – colourful scraps of plastic, metals and enamel combined to create a series of beautiful, lively necklaces. Born in 1975, Karola began her artisic training at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle in Germany, studying textile design for two years before leaving to start an internship at a goldsmithing workshop in her hometown of Erfurt. She returned to Halle in 1997 to study jewellery under Dorothea Prühl, and later completed her MA at the Royal College of Art in London. Her work has been shown in exhibitions across the UK and Europe.
