Edu Tarín

Edu Tarín says of his work, ‘there have been always two parts that cannot stand alone. If we forget about the “how” we are resigning to the intimate connection that humans have been creating with materiality’. His desire is to transform nothing into matter and empty into content, and to understand how technology, design and labour complement each other.

Edu Tarín was born in Valencia in Spain in 1984. He was an apprentice goldsmith in the workshop of his family’s jewellery business before studying at EASD Valencia. In 2011, Edu moved to Germany to study for his master’s at the University of Applied Sciences Trier in Idar-Oberstein, He has won a number of awards, including the Talente Preis 2016 at Schmuck in Munich and the 2016 Award for Creation and Design, JORGC Catalunya.
