We can stay in touch with each other all the time, but are we really listening? My work explores the importance of conversation and encounter. Good conversation increases understanding and creates a sense of belonging. Today, people talk a lot without being present or really listening. I wanted to have a conversation with another person and give time to be present in that moment. Each piece is named after quotations from the conversation. They are meant to be close to people, the velvety or rough surface of the wood cannot be felt unless the object is picked up. The series encourages the viewer to explore in peace what it has to say and likewise reminds them to take time to have a conversation with other people.
