Wildflowers & Urban Trash
This project arose from an observation: walk in the city and look down. Bold, colourful flowers stick their heads out through the stones. Look again at those little plants in the crevices of the pavement, surrounded by all kinds of things that people have left behind – their waste. I have a strange love for useless objects. I see beauty in the things that others would pass by and collect these objects in a treasure chest. When I saw discarded rubbish next to wildflowers, I photographed the scene and then collected the waste in a box. These designs are inspired by the wildflowers captured in my photos and the urban landscape in which they sprouted.
