My work explores the synergy between body and object in contemporary jewellery. It is made to be touched and experienced in connection with the body of the wearer. The forms do not follow the shape of the body but refer to it. Through their shapes, a certain language can be found, for instance, referring to female sexuality; exploring inner/outer spaces of body/mind as well as the inner/outer spaces of material. I use natural materials, some of which are of animal origin and refer to the essence of our physical bodies – traces of our living existence which, to some extent, we are leaving behind. I am trying to bring the intangible to a point of tangibility, to bring form to the unknown and abstract.
