ENSA LIMOGES
Designed by its creator, worn by its owner, shown to spectators, jewellery is activated amongst humans. It has a social life through its ability to meddle in human affairs. The jewel becomes a sign. A sign of affirmation. A sign that navigates between material, symbolic and sentimental values. My work is an answer to the observation of our society and my daily life’s experience. Exploring the history of jewellery, I dig different fields of investigation, I borrow and move references, know-how to create bridges between often opposing worlds. I question classical typologies. I reinterpret them by navigating between historical references and values perceptions. I like to sneak into various universes to try to find new links and re-inject them into my work.
