Understanding or measuring my environment fascinates me enormously – from mapping the world to measuring spaces or making the smallest part of a piece of jewellery. We live in a world where measurement is indispensable. I am searching for a clear link between space and jewellery that is more specific than measurement. I do not believe that a standard size exists. For me, each piece of jewellery is made specifically for someone. Everyone has their own size which can serve as a unit of measurement and these objects originate from my own personal measurements. My work is a way of dealing with the fact that you cannot control and structure everything. It’s not about numbers but about repeating, feeling, looking and understanding.
