Making is a self-reflexive, self-engaging, meditative process. By being aware of every single step, I’m creating work that bears traces of its process, inviting the viewer to engage with the work, to be part of its action. The pieces mirror my relationship with process and my relationship with myself which is reflected through the process. In my making practice, denying the previous step is intentional, it challenges both me and my work at once. My work illustrates no path, nor does it offer clues. I use it to discover paths, to encounter inner peace. It is an attempt to understand, to practice and to fail. Through the act of making, I’m trying to articulate the immeasurable essence of our nature.
