INFORMEER

Voor Julia Walter zijn de materiële en de spirituele wereld nauw met elkaar verbonden. Ze ziet ‘alles in een constante stroom van beweging en transformatie, actie en reactie’. Haar werk is amuletisch, energiek en symbolisch en weerspiegelt de ambivalente kracht van symbolen, zowel oude als hedendaagse interpretaties van nu alomtegenwoordige tekens en emojis. Sieraden, zegt ze, zijn “geladen met de energie van de maker, de energie van een moment, de energie van een ceremonie, de energie van de materialiteit’. En deze energie wordt overgedragen aan de drager.”

Julia Walter werd in 1979 in de Duitse stad Stuttgart geboren en studeerde aan Ar.Co. in Lissabon voordat ze van 2003 tot 2007 verder studeerde aan de Hochschule Pforzheim in Duitsland. Haar werk is internationaal tentoongesteld in zowel groeps- als solotentoonstellingen.
