Passionate, dedicated, erudite, perfectionist, sharp, funny and intelligent; often in the background but always present and imposing. 

Notwithstanding the sometimes fiery debate – as usual in Italy – his opinion was always measured and thoughtful and ultimately cherished. 
An important artist and above all a good friend is no longer among us. I will miss him.
