Dongchun Lee

Dongchun Lee creates jewellery that is a contemplative and introspective embodiment of his preoccupation with the passage of time. His work gently breathes life into his belief that time is both the catalyst by which life flourishes and the means by which it will eventually diminish and wither as the years pass.

Dongchun Lee was born in 1964 in Gyeongju, Korea. He studied at Kookmin University in Seoul, where he has been a professor since 2005, and then at the Fachhochschule für Gestaltung in Pforzheim in Germany. His work has been shown internationally and is held in collections including the Marzee Collection, the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Gwacheon, the Chiwoo Craft Museum in Seoul and the Danner Foundation Collection at Die Neue Sammlung in Munich.
